Not all ‘high-protein’ foods are good for you.

People’s diets must contain enough protein if their bodies are to keep running smoothly. Among the common types of proteins are nuts, meat, and eggs. The addition of processed protein to meals is another option that we have at our disposal.

Just recently released in the journal , the nutritional value of many processed foods claiming to be high in protein was examined in a study. The general populace has lately shown a propensity toward using food products with claims about their protein content. According to the research, certain foods may not be as healthful. About a quarter of the items claiming high protein content had excessive levels of free sugar or saturated fat; over half of them had high salt or fat content. Dr. Jonathan Jennings, a board-certified internist with Medical Î÷¹ÏÊÓÆµ, looked at the study and learned about these ‘high protein’ claims.
